Summer Camp

Rising Kindergarteners to Rising Third Graders

Capital Reading Club is a program designed by speech-language pathologist Johnetta Hammonds, who has over 15 years of experience working with children. The program’s mission is to improve children’s understanding of language, verbal expression, and reading skills by using multiple modalities to increase learning retention.

Schedule

  • 8:30-9:00 Drop-off

  • 9:00-9:30 Morning Meeting

  • 9:30-10:30 Activity 1 Rotations will target oral language and reading skills

  • 10:30-11:00 Break/Bathroom

  • 11:00-12:30 Activity 2 Rotations will target oral language and reading skills

  • 12:00-1:00 Lunch/Free Play

  • 1:00-2:00 Activity 3 Rotations will target oral language and reading skills

  • 2:30-3:00 Snack/Bathroom

  • 3:00-4:30 Free Play/Clean-up/Dismissal
