Capital Reading Club was created by Johnetta Hammonds, a speech-language pathologist, with over 15 years of experience working with children.  After years of working with children in schools and privately, Johnetta was inspired to create a program that could increase children’s oral and literacy skills using multiple modalities. Capital Reading Club's technique of using various learning modalities increases children’s retention skills and teaches children how and when to use these skills during daily activities. Johnetta is Orton Gillingham and PROMPT trained, which allows her to help children with increasing their literacy and articulation skills. Johnetta is also the owner of Hammonds Speech & Language Services, LLC. She provides services to toddlers, school-aged children, and adults who suffer from communication disabilities.
